Pierre Sidaoui Montreal, Canada Video. 47 min 33 sec. Courtesy of the National Film Board of Canada In Sidaoui’s film, we see the Green Line from a double distance. First, from the distance of his hometown of Abey, in the Lebanese mountains, and second, from the distance of his new home, Montreal. Forced to flee Lebanon with his family in 1982, a series of moves would ultimately separate Sidaoui from his parents, brother and sisters. The plot is driven by family photographs that bring forth a flood of memories: of family, landscapes, music, and war.
